If I cancel Doola, do I keep my LLC and EIN?

Your LLC exists on the state's records and your EIN is issued by the IRS directly to your business. Neither belongs to Doola, so canceling does not dissolve your company or cancel your EIN. What you lose is the bundled services: the registered agent, the US address, and any bookkeeping or tax filing on your tier. The entity itself continues.

The most important thing to handle is the registered agent, because Doola provides yours as part of the plan. Every US LLC is legally required to maintain a registered agent in its formation state. Before your Doola coverage lapses, appoint a replacement agent and file the change of agent with the state so there is no gap. Missing this can put your LLC out of good standing.

You will also need to take over the ongoing filings Doola may have been handling: your state annual report and fee (for example, Wyoming's annual report is a minimum of about $60 and a Delaware LLC owes a flat $300 per year franchise tax), and your federal tax filings. If you were on a tax tier, make sure you have a plan for who files going forward, whether that is a new provider or an accountant.

Before you cancel, download and keep your documents: your formation documents, EIN confirmation letter, operating agreement, and any bookkeeping records. These are records you will want regardless of provider, and it is much easier to save them while your account is active than to request them afterward.

Practical move: treat cancellation as a handoff, not a shutdown. Line up a new registered agent, note your state's annual filing deadline, save your documents, and confirm who handles your taxes next. Do that and you keep a fully intact, compliant US company with the same EIN. If the reason you are canceling is cost, remember that stepping down to a lower Doola tier may keep the registered agent and address bundled without the full subscription.
